We have now dug out of our backlog and have been meeting or exceeding our goals of on-time delivery for 2022 year-to-date. Boker’s understands that long lead times have an adverse effect on our customers and their ability to plan and execute; we are excited to announce that Boker’s team continues to work hard and has significantly reduced our lead times to provide you, our customer, with world-class service.

Raw material pricing and availability will continue to be a moving target as our supply chain catches up to demand. Get your orders placed in advance in an effort to secure raw material to line up with production schedules.

During the late 1920’s Boker’s was working out of their second location in the heart of the University of Minnesota campus. One day while J.P. Boker stepped out to go to the bank he experienced a minor car accident with a gentleman by the name of Herman Garmers; they exchanged business cards and carried on. At the time Doctor Garmers was a dentist working out of his dental office just down the street from the bank as well as Boker’s manufacturing facility.

Doctor Garmers had invented the cotton roll holder and needed a supplier to produce them, J.P. and his family had the facility and the expertise to get the job done right. Since that accident, Garmers Dental Instruments, Inc. and Boker’s have enjoyed a business partnership that is still strong today.

Doctor Garmers and J.P. Boker handled themselves respectfully that day at the bank, and that demeanor has lead to a business relationship of 85+ years. This is a testament to the principles that both Garmers and Boker’s still hold today: hard work, attention to detail and, above all else moral and ethical behavior in everything that you do.

PMA Business Conditions Report: May 25, 2022

The May 2022 Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Business Conditions Report showed metalforming companies anticipating a modest decline in business conditions compared to the previous month’s report. Prepared monthly, the report provides an economic indicator for the next three months of manufacturing, sampling 108 metalforming companies in the United States and Canada.

PMA’s May report shows that 16% of metalforming companies expect an increase in general economic activity in the next three months (decreasing from 19% in April), 63% forecast no change in activity (the same percentage reported in April) and 21% predict a decrease in activity (compared to 18% last month).
